THE UGLY SIDE
There are hundreds, if not thousands of girls who dream to become models. To pose in cute dresses and walk in heels, in order to feel glamours and loved. They watch mainstream TV shows like 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' and notice how Kendall and Kylie Jenner also aspire to model. The show glamorises and sugar-coats what the modelling industry is actually like, showcasing the girls modelling for bumble-gum brand Sherri Hill. These girls fall into the category of 'Faux Fashionista', due to their basic understanding of fashion and their imbecilic belief on fashion; because they know who Cara Delevinge and Jordan Dunn are, they also understand fashion. However, knowing fashion labels and knowing fashion are two completely different things.

GIAMBATTISTA VALLI FALL 13 COUTURE
Before the couture show began, Giambattista Valli stated " Flowers and colours are what women want from me" He certainly used that as inspiration for this beautiful collection. This seasons presentation included delicate florals, light materials and daring colours. Valli certainly stayed on the sweeter side of fashion, presenting beautiful, feminine looks.
A very pretty dress, beautiful florals with such an extravagant front. |

CHRISTIAN DIOR FALL 13 COUTURE
Creative director Raf Simons is changing the house of Dior, before our own eyes. The model cast this year, finally consists of black models, a first for the brand. Not only were they used, but many cultural influences were noted in this collection. Previously, French styling and cuts were prominent, however, featured in this collection were African and Eastern motifs. Creating a collection, which is very contemporary, fresh and open.
I love the beading on the torso, the colours of this dress all work well together. |

ARMANI PRIVÉ FALL 13 COUTURE
Armani presented a subtle collection this season, basing his ideas upon lightness. There were few colours chosen, most of which were from the paler side of the spectrum, with hues of black, to break it here and there. He said "Pure elegance, what's on the inside", this can clearly be noted in the collection.
I like the structure of the shoulders, really clean and sharp |

CHANEL FALL 13 COUTURE
The narrative for Chanel couture was fairly strong, the show opened with a futuristic background, showcasing a modern city. Karl Lagerfeld based his ideas on "tradition with future", the collection had clear nods to past icons; such as Grace Jones.
I really like the hats from the show, the tweed is great, with the suede boots. |

ATELIER VERSACE FALL 13 COUTURE
The show began with supermodel Naomi Campbell opening the show, seductively walking down the runway. She wore a (barely) black jacket, with decorated clasps, holding it all together. The outfit had a lot of thigh on show, revealing her sexiness, along with the lace bra.
In all her sexiness, it's been 15 years since she last walked the brand |

CLASSIC CONTRAST
Hey guys! How are you all doing? Prom has finally arrived and it's time to look the part. I was so excited to show you another side of me and to show how formal wear would look on me, not too bad eh~? On an editorial note, I wanted to show the contrast between something classic and formal, against a rough and messy backdrop, hence the title of the post!
Stay healthy throughout this summer and hot weather. I look forward to reading all your comments and opinions on this outfit, thanks so much! See you soon ~! ^^

GUCCI MENS SPRING 14
This is the very last menswear show I will be reviewing this season, before catching on with Haute Couture shows. This season Frida Gianini envisioned the stylish sportsman "Gone trekking." Items all have sport elements, with luxurious sprints and materials. The collection is aimed at active, young sportsmen, connoting a new image for the Gucci man.
Love:
I like the whole look, it's very casual and functional. It also looks great |

KRIS VAN ASSCHE MENS SPRING 14
Kris Van Assche is at the top of menswear fashion, continuously designing wearable clothes, with a contemporary edge. This collection promotes monochrome, with sudden bursts of bright hues. Most of the looks had a 'smart' element, while others included modern twists. For example a white shirt, with crocodile motifs. This collection is very wearable, for the fashionable gentleman this summer.
Love:
Everything here, minus the zipper. |

DSQUARED2 MENS SPRING 14
Dean and Dan Caten opened the show with a mysterious start; it appears a plane has crash landed onto a strange island, with no one else around. Matt Woodhouse opened the show, having a shower under the falls, where a fellow male model hands him a towel, before Matt walks the runway. The show presented a fun collection, with dramatic prints on swim shorts, in contrast with rather demure looks, featuring heavy black. The show has always been noticed for the engaging runway sets and this one doesn't disappoint!
Love:
This runway set, perhaps the most fun and unique show of the week |

DOLCE & GABBANA MENS SPRING 14
Dolce and Gabbana presented a longer collection than most shows (perhaps to leave a strong imprint of the name, until the next show), consisting of grand prints, smart suits and light materials. The collection proposed the idea of Sicilian heritage, envisioning the locals from the D&G boys background. Prints were very graphic and eye-catching, making it rather unwearable. The design duo have been sentenced to 20 months of jail, due to tax evasion of around £850m. Hopefully the pair will be back soon, creating an amazing comeback collection.
Love:
The print on both items, they go great together |
CHRISTOPHER KANE MENS SPRING 14
Young designer, Christopher Kane created a very visual and enigmatic collection this spring. The collection involved heavy uses of prints and bold colours, which looked absolutely fantastic. The collection is very wearable, leaving an effortless look. Check out the best and worst looks from the show.
Love:
I love this look, the print is amazing |
