There was a striking difference for Fendi's Fall collection, as they moved away from the gentle and romantic previous Spring collection. The collection was boldly strong, with sharp lined leathers with a fur trim, no-nonsense turtle necks, tucked into long leathery dresses and colourful flowers which peeked out of handbags, 'Pleasant aggressivity' Lagerfeld said backstage.
There was also a surprising nod to utility and function for the colder climates, as he wrapped models in over-sized jackets, which looked like live-in duvet sheets. This juxtaposed with their elongated and elegant counterparts. Sticking to the usual colours of the house, he presented the collection in tones of rich brown, luxurious creams and poppy reds.
