TATA NAKA A/W15

For Fall 2015, Tata Naka was inspired by the popular murder mystery genre, the classic 'Whodunnit'. Tata Naka takes a humorous approach to the theme, also drawing influences from the board game 'Cluedo'. The collection features an implement of original oriental dragons in the shades of vibrant turquoise, bright corals and rich plum. The 1930s tea dress florals also make an appearance in poppy red, blue and orchid white. And it wouldn't be a murder mystery without weapons; embellishments feature a revolver, a dagger and a candlestick, featured as gold threaded appliqués on wool, silk and vintage net.

This season ranges in fabrics and textures including, georgette, silks, velvets and wools. For footwear, Tata Naka has the unmistakable stamp of the brand, the classic Oxford shoe, with contemporary metallic detailing.  The collection offers an enjoyable way to explore and discover ones silhouette, offering a range of textures, themes and possibilities in a murder mystery meets luxury collection.

MARKO MITANOVSKI A/W15

Marko Mitanovski's Fall 2015 collection stands out from the crowd of young designers as he created an elaborate and striking collection, inspired by nature, birds and reptile skeletons. The Serbian designer was also inspired by architecture and historical costumes, which he subtly included into his collection. He creates beautifully avant-garde elegance, and has had exceptional designs worn by celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Paloma Faith and Steve Strange.

Each piece was truly amazing, and to sit front row to observe his hard work, explode onto couture dresses was even better. I loved the attention to detail and the amount of focus to intricate designs on each piece. The head pieces were sublime and the silhouettes were so inspiring and similar to the many shapes of different birds. I loved the clash of leathers, faux-hair and diamonds to create a sense of exuberance and luxury for the wearer.

DORA ABODI A/W15

For Fall 2015, Dora Abodi takes us on the next instalment of the Cult of the Twin Unisus collection, which depicts the traces of a mystical battle. The intricate collars, trims and irregular wavy edges, torn materials and asymmetric prints reflect the disturbance and violence of this treacherous battle; creating a harmony between final truth and ultimate fearlessness.

The collection features broken crystals, deconstructed and wrinkled fabrics which have been used to further encapsulate the destruction of the supernatural battle. Dora Abodi uses her signature haute couture details of delicate hand embroidery, distressed materials and beautiful hang quilting. The silhouettes are sophisticated with an air of ethereal femininity, which perfectly depict the violence of the fierce battle.
