Looking back at fashion over the years, it seems fashion was about over-the-top styling, crazy colours and bizarre trends. Designers would opt for bold sexiness and obvious femininity. But as we're reaching the future; minimalism and simplistic clothes are leading the way. This is what Prabal adopted for his Fall 2015 show, backstage he said "A lot of my friends are having babies. Their bodies have changed. I've realised a dress can still be sexy without being skintight." Spaghetti-strap, night-gown-style dresses were shown a little loosely on the models this season. The dresses were in calm tones of beige, black and a dash of red. He juxtaposed beautiful silk dresses with warm and comfortable jackets, with a fur trim.
The collection mainly focused on minimalism and subtle sexiness. Dresses often had a thin layer of lace, below the knee, evoking a sense of luxury. Personally, I think the collection was beautiful and deliciously simple. There's something about chic furs and silk dresses that just ooze exuberance. What's even better, are the backstage shots from the show. It's so refreshing to see happy and excited models, which truly capture the essence of this collection.
