When it comes to New York Fashion Week, Ralph Lauren is one of the most attractive shows of the week with his staple luxuriousness and classic shapes and this season was no different. The talk of the town was his latest business adventure, the delicious Polo Bar Restaurant; a cozy and dimly-lit bar in the heart of New York. And what better way to garner press coverage than with a perfect wardrobe for the latest bar in town. The rich and delicious collection featured minimal tones of beige, oatmeal brown and sublime black. There was also typical Ralph Lauren iconography, like the slouched suede belt and the warm knits, finished with a wool or suede poncho, shearling coats and sophisticated trousers.
There was also strong references to the western wear, with coats and over jackets finished with fringing; faux fur was added onto jackets and outer layers, adding a touch of opulence and style. And with the Oscars coming up, there's bound to be a Lauren dress on the red carpet. It'd be difficult to not see the beautifully minimal and sophisticated strapless, black dresses he showed this season. The collection was sexy and sensational, often choosing simplicity over complication.
