LANVIN A/W15

In arguably his strongest collection for Lanvin, Alber Elbaz was inspired by his Moroccan roots for Fall. There was  certainly a Saharan vibe to the collection, as it featured wrinkles, raw edges, goat hair and snakeskin. Beautiful chiffon gowns were made stricter with leather belts, accentuating the body. Elbaz looked into the past for inspiration, he discovered fur pieces which took over 250 hours to put together, "The Essence of Luxury" he called it. He interpreted this into his latest collection, with a dense dress, heavy with flowers.

He took his usual approach to fashion, enriching the women he designs for, with beautiful, simple and wearable clothes. He wrapped models in his rich clothes, he said backstage "I like the idea of being hugged by fashion." Alber is really one of those logical designers, he designs for women in his stores, shopping for that perfect item. Opposed to designing for whimsy and attention.
