ALEXANDER WANG A/W15

For me and other fashionistas, black is the superior colour in fashion. As Yohji Yamamoto once said "Black is modest and arrogant at the same time. Black is lazy and easy - but mysterious. But above all, black says this: 'I don't bother you - don't bother me.' and today was Alexander Wang's turn. Backstage, he said "Our customer wants black, so why not do an all-black collection?" The collection packed a deep strength, an outfit with attitude. The models wore all black, tight pants, messy rock-band hair and sky-high black flatforms. Wang gave the pieces hardware on trims of dresses, delicate chains which would rock to the beat of the music.

He juxtaposed the black ensembles, against white fisherman jumpers and blue jeans which really stood out. It's really refreshing to hear a designer talk about his customers and this is easily one of his most accessible and consumer-friendly collection. Each piece really stands out, worn together or just alone and I can't wait to get my hands on them.
