FROM ANGEL, TO DEMON

Kylie Bisutti who rose to fame, due to her winnings at the 'Victoria's Secret Model Search' in 2009, has recently blasted the brand, stating it treated her "like a piece of meat". She claims, that the brand conflicts with her strong Christian beliefs, "My body should only be for my husband and it's just a sacred thing." She currently designs Christian clothing, which she states is "modest clothing".

She certainly looks respectable as a Christian here.

Kylie Bisutti, should be grateful that she won the contest, there were over 10, 000 other girls and they chose her. They'd all kill for her position, but she threw it back to their faces. The contract states that she would only participate in the 2009 show, along with a swim-suit photo shoot, the current year.

Modelling for the brand in 2009
It's of no surprise that she would revolt and protest since the brand no longer chooses to work with her. Now that she's lost her VS contract, she has no money - so she becomes desperate. Bisutti plans to release a book about her experiences, titled "I'm No Angel: From Victoria's Secret Model to Role Model". A perfect way to earn thousands of dollars, she is milking the situation as much as possible, through her abrupt outburst of fame.

However, Victoria's Secret has responded to her claims, stating it as mere "fabrications". "Ms Bisutti has made numerous fabrications and misstatements of fact regarding her brief association with Victoria's Secret," read a spokesperson for the brand. "In 2009, Ms Bisutti won an online amateur modelling competition and hasn't worked for us since that year. The prize for the winning contestant was the unique opportunity to a one-time walk in the 2009 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Ms Bisutti also participated in a swim photo shoot in 2009. That was the extent of Ms Bisutti's involvement with Victoria's Secret."

Victoria's Secret is well-known for selling underwear, the show presents the models in every show, wearing underwear. Giving her some credit, I'm sure she knew this. I understand she now devotes her life to Christianity, but is it necessary the bash her successful past? Why would years later, she is to criticise the brand? Simple, it's because she ran out of money.

    1. Thank you Chiara, she doesn't seem very nice. If she claims to be such a good person, why slam something?

  6. I think being a Christian doesn't necessarily mean that you cannot be modelling at the same time. She should have known what she'd signed up for by joining the competition. I despise her attitude of earning money through Christianity.

But I guess the book maybe also a good warning for those teenage girls who dream of being in the fashion industry. There are always stories behind those gorgeous faces and the fame.

(excuse me for my english btw. not a native speaker but I'm just trying to express what I think.)

  10. Wow, this was interesting! Surely "being Christian" would not have gotten her to advertise for underwears.

  11. Interesting post Victor. It just goes to show that models can't remain models forever; seems like she couldn't handle going back to the day job so she kicked up a big fuss.
